The bouquet is intense and powerful with aromas of ripe cassis and wild strawberry freshness. The palate smoulders, driven by impossibly fine tannins that feel etched rather than pressed, carrying cool black fruits, cigar leaf and wet slate across a frame that shows a remarkable purity. Rich yet resonant and beautifully precise, this is a classic Lafite full of black fruit concentration with supporting flavours of cedar smoke, graphite and an impressive mineral tension.
Harvest 2nd - 20th September with a yield of 27 hl/ha. Gentle extractions and selective pressings were used, with 16% press wine included in the final blend. Aged in 90% new ak barrels. 55% of the total crop will be used for the Grand Vin. Alc 12.7%.
