England has risen to prominence in the World of Wine due to its importance in sparkling wine production. New vineyards of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir rub shoulders with classic cool climate table wine grapes such as Sylvaner, Richtensteiner, Seyval Blanc and Madeline Angevine. As the world’s climate has warmed, so this has allowed the spread of wine grapes from the South East and South West of England all the way into the north of England, with vineyards now planted in Yorkshire and North Wales.
