Château Kirwan is a 3eme Cru Grand Cru Classé Margaux property, situated in the commune of Cantenac, that has returned to its former glories in recent years.
A deep prune fruit bouquet grabs immediate attention. The palate is suave and stylish, beautifully crafted with succulent, sweet blackcurrant fruit. The tannins are seductive and the 50% new oak is absorbed completely. A very impressive Kirwan this vintage, arguably one of the stars of the appellation.
A yield of 27hl/ha. The fermentation is cool at a maximum 25°C in order to contain the extraction and showpiece the classic Margaux characters. Aged in 50% new oak for 18 months.
