This is a distinguished Margaux from a château whose history dates back to the 14th century, with viticulture established in 1552 by Bordeaux merchant Pierre de L'homme. The 2025 vintage shows restrained aromas of red berries and plum, leading to a powerful palate of black fruit compote, fresh cherry, cedar, and cocoa, supported by ripe tannins and a refined mineral finish.

Château Giscours

Giscours has a long and rich history, which can be traced back to the fourteenth century at which time it was a defensive tower overlooking a wild and inhospitable region. The real beginning of the château came in 1552, when Pierre de L'homme, a wealthy Bordeaux draper, bought a nobleman’s house called “Guyscoutz” and proceeded to turn it into a vast estate and planted the first vines. The bouquet is restrained and brooding with red berry fruits as well as notes of plum. The palate is powerful and intense, a black fruit compote, but also a red cherry freshness giving a wonderful balance. There are flavours of cedar and cocoa and the tannins are ripe and firm, whilst an edgy minerality on the finish provides extra dimension.
Harvest 3rd - 25th September with a yield of 30hl/ha. Aged in 50% new oak barrels. Alc 13.2%.
